Jackson Park Harbor, on the historic south lakefront beside the park of the same name, is one of the oldest harbors in the Chicago system, with an inner and outer basin and a long sailing tradition anchored by the Jackson Park Yacht Club. It has a distinct, established character and a fleet that leans toward sailboats alongside powerboats. We detail throughout the harbor dockside, right at slips and moorings.

The harbor's strong sailing presence shapes much of our work. Sailboats here carry large gelcoat topsides and coachroofs, extensive brightwork and stainless, and non-skid decks that collect grime, and we handle all of it as routine, scaled to each boat.

Topsides, Decks and Brightwork

A Jackson Park detail begins with a marine wash and decontamination, moves through machine polishing or staged oxidation removal to restore gloss, and finishes with wax, sealant or a ceramic coating. We clean non-skid decks while preserving grip, polish stainless rails, stanchions and hardware, and clean and brighten teak toe rails and trim so the brightwork looks intentional.

Cabins and Interiors

Interiors get vinyl shampooing, conditioning and mildew removal, with careful cleaning of glass and isinglass. On the sailboats we pay attention to the cabin spaces below, where lake damp leaves a musty edge if it goes unaddressed through the season.

The same operators return each visit, learning the vessel and keeping its finish on track around the rhythm of launch, sailing and haul-out on the south lakefront.

The harbor sits open to Lake Michigan's UV and the mineral spotting freshwater leaves behind, so protection is key, particularly across a sailboat's large topside and deck area. A fresh wax or a durable coating keeps a Jackson Park boat looking its best through the whole season.
