Chicago has one of the largest harbor systems on the Great Lakes, and a boat kept here faces a very particular set of conditions. The freshwater of Lake Michigan does not corrode like saltwater, but it leaves heavy mineral spotting, and the open exposure off the lake bakes gelcoat with UV from spring through fall. We work all of the Chicago Harbors: Montrose, DuSable, Monroe, Burnham, Belmont, Diversey, 31st Street, Jackson Park and Calumet, each with its own layout, from the mooring cans of Monroe to the floating docks at 31st Street. Knowing how each harbor is set up means we arrive ready for your specific dock rather than improvising on the day.
Chicago clients book everything from a quick maintenance wash to multi-stage gelcoat restoration. Common work includes oxidation removal on sun-faded topsides, machine polishing and waxing, marine ceramic coating for long protection, and full interior detailing to clear the mildew that the lake's humidity breeds in closed cockpits. Stainless rails and brightwork round out a complete detail.
